A.S.A. Slow-Pitch Softball Rules Prevail!!
A
rule book is provided for all teams!
·
All
Players Uniform tops must be of same color and must have a legible number on
sleeve or back.
·
May
start the game with 9 players. Until 10th
player arrives an out will be awarded for every missed at bat. As soon as the
10th player arrives she must be put in the game
·
Players
eligible to participate in playoffs will be players on current roster who have
participated in at least 3 games.
·
Teams
wishing to add or change their rosters after June 23rd, 2006 must
notify Lisa Chammings and Heather Prutzman before
player is allowed to play in a game after a 7 day waiting period.. Infraction will
result in game forfeiture if opposing team properly protests.
·
Players
may not change teams once season begins unless all teams agree.
·
Players
must be 18 years of age by start of season.
·
Pitching
distance is 50 feet with a pitching rubber
·
Base
distances are 65 feet and must be securely fastened in position as per manufacturers instructions.
·
All games are to be
officiated by an approved A.S.A. umpire. If an umpire does not show for an assignment
an umpire will be assigned to a rescheduled game at no charge to the teams. Our
insurance demands this!
·
Playoff
games: Umpire must begin game by
6:15. If the umpire is late and game is
called for darkness the game must be completed the following day with the same
roster as at completion of game. The
umpire must sign both books before leaving the field.

Umpire
fee is $40\game.
·
All
umpires are to be paid prior to the start of the game.
·
Line up cards are to be given to
opposing team and umpire before game.
This card is to list the starting players and numbers and if possible
the names and numbers of any possible substitutes.
·
Ground
rules must be reviewed prior to the game by umpire, coaches, and team
representative. All rules should
coincide with rulebook.
·
Games
are scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM (except playoff games) and field conditions must be readied
before this time. A 15 minute grace
period will be allowed to avoid a forfeit due to only 8 or less players being
present. Delaying a game for a
particular player or players to arrive will not be allowed.
·
Three
forfeitures in one season will result in team suspension for remainder of the
year.
·
A
12 run, 5 inning, run rule will be in effect for
regular season and playoffs.
·
Protests
are to be in writing and mailed within 48 hours of protest accompanied by a $35
check. If protest is upheld the $35 is
returned. If it is not upheld it is
deposited into the league account.
·
All
cancelled or rained out games are to be made up within 10 days. (Exception for end of season is that all
games must be made up by August 6th.
·
Umpires
are to be paid $14 travel fee for rained out game prior to 1st
pitch. If game is to be cancelled the
assignor and opposing team should be notified by 5:45 PM., NO LATER. (This is
responsibility of home team.)
·
No
alcohol or controlled substances are permitted at games. Smoking in the coaches box is also prohibited. Umpire will stop game if violators do not
comply. Umpire also has the right to ask
violators to leave area.
·
All
injuries are to be reported to Lisa Chammings or Heather Prutzman
and
Bollinger Insurance ASAP. A form is
provided for this.
